Be the one your family counts on when everything stops working.
DEAD READY turns real survival skills into done-for-you checklists. Zombie outbreak or week-long blackout, you'll be ready in one weekend, even if you've never prepped a day in your life.
When it hits, most people do what they always do: wait, refresh, and hope someone's coming. Then they find out they can't answer the basics.
How much water do you need per person per day, and how do you make dirty water safe to drink?
Your friend is bleeding hard from the leg. What do you do in the next 60 seconds?
The power's out. Where can you safely run a stove or a generator? (Not the garage. Even with the door open.)
A stranger knocks at night. Do you open the door?
Three weeks in, the toilets don't work. What kills more people than the disaster itself?
If you hesitated on even one of those, you're the character who doesn't make it to the mid-season finale. Good news: every one of them is learnable in a weekend, and we've already done the hard part for you.
Here's the twist
Zombie-proof is disaster-proof.
The scenes are fiction. The skills are real: the same water, first aid, fire safety and radio basics that get people through blackouts, hurricanes, wildfires and floods.
Real World Mode
Every chapter ends with a Real World Mode box showing exactly how that chapter's skill applies when the power goes out for a week, a storm is coming, or you get 15 minutes to evacuate. A fun read tonight. The most useful book in your house on the worst day of your year.
Real pages from the book
Every chapter: a scene from the end of the world, the one rule to remember, the real skill, checklists, the mistakes that get people killed, and Real World Mode.

Who's behind this?
We make Beyond the Dead, a YouTube channel about zombie stories, what-ifs and the shows we've all binged. After hundreds of hours of asking "would they really survive that?", we wanted the real answers. So we went to the actual sources (FEMA, the CDC, the American Red Cross, the EPA, the US Army survival manual) and turned them into the field guide we wish existed.
Before you buy
I don't have time to read 300 pages.
You don't have to. The One-Weekend Prep Plan turns the book's checklists into eight blocks over one Saturday and Sunday. Do a block, tick it off, move on. Read the chapters whenever you like.
Is this a real survival guide or just for fun?
Both. The scenes are fiction. The skills are real and were checked against official guidance from FEMA/Ready.gov, the CDC, the American Red Cross, the EPA, NOAA and the US Army survival manual. Every chapter lists its sources.
Do I have to spend a fortune on gear?
No. Most of the plan uses things you already have or can pick up cheaply: water containers, a pantry of food you already eat, a first-aid kit, a battery radio. The book tells you what matters first.
I don't live in the US. Is it still useful?
Yes. Water, food, first aid, fire and shelter work the same everywhere. Measurements are given in both US and metric. Where rules differ by country (radio licences, for example) the book says so.
What format is it?
A PDF designed to read easily on your phone, tablet or computer, plus printable PDFs for the survival pack, the weekend plan and the pocket cards. You get them instantly after you pay.
Is it medical advice?
No. The first-aid chapter is general education based on Red Cross and Stop the Bleed guidance. In a real emergency, call your local emergency number. We strongly recommend taking a real first-aid course.
Is this connected to any TV show?
No. Beyond the Dead is an independent channel. DEAD READY is our own book, set in our own zombie world, and isn't affiliated with or endorsed by any show or studio.
